We are thrilled to enter our third school year of Parent Education at Park Century School! This ongoing series brings together local specialists and Park Century experts to offer actionable strategies, practical tools, and valuable resources to help you support your child.
Each session begins with an insightful presentation, followed by an opportunity to connect, share experiences, and talk with other parents.
All are welcome! These events are open to our entire surrounding community, not just current Park Century families. Whether you are part of our school or looking to connect with expert guidance and fellow parents in the area, we invite you to join us.

The Emotional Side of Language-Based Learning Differences

Dr. Michaeli will discuss common emotional patterns in bright students with language-based learning disabilities (LDs) and offer practical ways for parents to support resilience while still holding clear expectations.

Our Math Instructional Approach: Integrating the Science of Learning Methods, led by David Chavez, our Math Specialist, Coach, and Educational Therapist. David will discuss our innovative math instructional approach, which integrates methods from the Science of Learning. He will share valuable insights into why and how we teach math at Park Century, as well as effective strategies for supporting students whose brains process information differently.

School Assessments: Why, How and What It Means for Your Child

This session will be led by, Sara Love, Associate Head of School, Head Elect 2027, and Ilana Jurkowitz, Director of Mental Health Support and School Counseling.
The session will focus on understanding our school assessments, including the why, how, and what it means for your child. They will review key assessment tools we use, including MAP® Growth™ (NWEA®) and the Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (WIAT-4), and how these assessments help us tailor instruction to meet our students’ individual learning needs.
