After receiving a Bachelors of Science Degree in Communication Disorders from BIOLA University in La Mirada, California, Micaela earned a Masters of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. She has had many opportunities working in a variety of settings from the Boston Public Schools to private practices in the Los Angeles area. Through her experience, she started to specialize in oral motor disorders, such as apraxia of speech. Many of these students who exhibited apraxia of speech disorders would later demonstrate difficulty in the school setting, which led her to find another passion of working with students with learning differences.
She just recently joined Park Century School in January 2016 as a part-time speech and language pathologist and instantly felt the warm and welcoming school environment. Over the last semester, Micaela loved watching the students grow in their academics and friendships around the campus. She looks forward to watching PCS students continue to grow this upcoming school year. Micaela is excited to announce that she is now a full-time speech and language pathologist and a reading teacher at Park Century School.
