Sally and her husband, David, moved from Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles along with their four children in 1982.
Sally has had a lifelong interest in education, and while in Washington, Sally served on the Norwood School Board of Trustees (1981-1984), a K-8 school in Bethesda, Maryland. In Los Angeles, Sally has served on the Boards of the John Thomas Dye School (1989-1998 and again in 2004 -2014), the Harvard School (1988-1990), and the Harvard-Westlake School (1990-2013). During four of those years, Sally, along with her husband, served on the Stanford University Parents' Advisory Board. Sally also served on the Advisory Board for The Friends of the Semel Institute until 2017.
In addition to her interest in education, Sally has a significant interest in issues surrounding mental health and illnesses of the mind and brain. She comes by this at least a bit naturally as the daughter, niece and mother of therapists.
Sally and her husband reside in Westwood.
