Patricia R. Torrey
Patricia (“Trish”) Riordan Torrey grew up in South Pasadena, California in the 1960s. She is the fourth of five children. After graduating from Mayfield Senior High in Pasadena, she left for Colorado College where she received a BA in mathematics in 1982.
Returning to California, Trish’s first job out of college was as a math teacher at Marymount High School in Los Angeles. After a couple years, she landed a summer job with the 1984 Olympics. That job was the beginning of what became a 15-year career in film production. She traveled quite a bit as a production coordinator, production supervisor and manager.
Trish Riordan married artist Dana Torrey in 1997 and decided she had enough of location work. She settled into a staff job at Fox Television Studios for the year prior to the birth of their first child, Jessica Carol Torrey, in 1999. The following century, their second daughter Elizabeth (“Liz”) Merrill Torrey was born in 2001.
Both Jessica and Liz attended New Roads School where Jessica graduated high school in 2017. Liz enjoyed New Roads but realized it was getting too difficult after 1st grade. Liz started Park Century in 2nd grade and graduated 8th grade in 2017 from PCS. Liz thrived during her years at Park Century. Liz attends Renaissance High School, and her sister, Jessica, attends Harvey Mudd College.
Trish has enjoyed being involved with her daughters’ schools from the beginning as well as finding the best therapies for Liz. Trish is also on the Board of her family’s foundation, The Riordan Foundation. Trish joined the Park Century Board in 2013 and looks forward to participating, learning and growing with the school.
